About the role
The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Norwich Medical School is seeking a Clinical Associate Professor to lead the Year 3 Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship (LIC) for the Graduate Entry Medicine (GEM) programme. This part‑time, strategic role will shape community‑based clinical education for a cohort focused on coastal and rural healthcare.
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the design, development and delivery of the Year 3 LIC.
- Collaborate with the Graduate Entry Primary Care Lead, GEM Course Director and GP Tutors to ensure high‑quality, community‑based clinical education.
- Oversee student exposure to primary‑care presentations, multidisciplinary team working and clinical governance processes.
- Guide students in completing supervised Quality Improvement projects that contribute to patient care and practice systems.
- Ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory standards for clinical education.
Required profile
- Established academic career in medical education or clinical teaching.
- Experience in primary‑care or community‑based clinical settings.
- Proven leadership in curriculum development and delivery.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a network of clinical tutors and university staff.
Required skills
- Knowledge of longitudinal integrated clerkship models.
- Understanding of quality improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with clinical governance and multidisciplinary team dynamics.
