Clinical Biomarker Project Manager

About the role

This contract position supports a global pharmaceutical organisation in delivering innovative clinical development programmes. You will own the end‑to‑end biomarker operational strategy, working with cross‑functional study teams to ensure successful biomarker and companion diagnostic activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead operational planning and delivery of biomarker activities across one or more clinical programmes.
• Develop and implement study‑level biomarker operational strategies and associated documentation.
• Manage central and specialist biomarker laboratories, as well as external vendors.
• Oversee project scope, budgets, timelines, quality and performance.
• Coordinate biomarker data requirements and delivery timelines with scientific and clinical teams.

Required profile

• Minimum three years’ experience in clinical research, clinical operations, diagnostics or pharmaceutical R&D.
• Degree in Life Sciences or related scientific discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong clinical trial and operational project management background.
• Experience managing external laboratories, vendors and service providers.
• Ability to work on‑site in Welwyn Garden City at least two days per week.
