Clinical Deputy Manager

About the role

The Clinical Deputy Manager will work closely with the Home Manager to ensure clinical excellence, regulatory compliance and high‑quality resident care at Dounemount Care Home. This senior leadership position provides hands‑on guidance to nursing and care staff, overseeing day‑to‑day operations and acting as the Home Manager’s deputy when required.

Key responsibilities

• Lead clinical governance, care planning, medication management and risk assessment across the home.
• Monitor performance, conduct audits, support inspections and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide visible, hands‑on leadership to nursing and care teams, mentoring and developing staff.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations in the Home Manager’s absence, making informed decisions for residents and staff.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and organisational standards.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with a valid NMC PIN.
• Strong clinical knowledge and experience within a residential care setting.
• Proven leadership and team‑management experience.
• Experience in clinical governance, audits and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to mentor, support and develop staff.
