Clinical Development Nurse

About the role

As a Regional Clinical Development Nurse you will lead and support the clinical governance and quality of care across nine Barchester care homes in the Milton Keynes, Oxfordshire, Northampton, Gosmore, Melbourn and St Peter in Jersey areas. You will work closely with senior clinical staff to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement of resident care.

Key responsibilities

• Review the clinical governance database and KPIs for each home on a monthly basis.
• Analyse results, identify practical strategies and implement actions to meet regulations and improve care.
• Collaborate with the Regional Director, improvement specialists and senior staff to drive quality initiatives.
• Organise training programmes and support the recruitment of senior clinical personnel.
• Deliver clinical investigations and act as a mentor for newly‑qualified nurses.
• Travel regularly between assigned care homes to provide on‑site support.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RGN) with a current NMC registration.
• Evidence of continued professional development and strong knowledge of regulatory requirements.
• Experience working in a care‑home environment.
• Confident clinical mentor, especially for newly‑qualified nurses.
• Leadership, analytical ability and strong relationship‑building skills.
