Clinical Fellow in Palliative Medicine

About the role
The Clinical Fellow in Palliative Medicine will join the multidisciplinary team at Marie Curie Hospice, Glasgow, delivering high‑quality care to in‑patients and, where appropriate, to community services. This fixed‑term position offers a broad exposure to palliative medicine across inpatient, outpatient and domiciliary settings.
Key responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical care to in‑patients under the supervision of senior consultants.
- Participate in outpatient clinics and home‑visit (domiciliary) services as experience permits.
- Undertake duty doctor responsibilities, ensuring 24‑hour on‑call coverage (1 in 5).
- Engage in professional activities (SPA) to support training, education and clinical excellence.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and care planning.
Required profile
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
- Minimum two years of full‑time postgraduate training, preferably within the NHS.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication skills with patients and carers.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable).

- Salary on the NHS Specialty Registrar scale (£44,297‑£69,651 per annum) with on‑call banding.
- Fixed‑term contract (6‑12 months, negotiable).
