Clinical Fellow (ST1/2) – Emergency Medicine

About the role

This 12‑month fixed‑term Clinical Fellow post (ST1/2) is based in the adult Emergency Department at Weston General Hospital. You will join a busy, fast‑paced team delivering urgent care to a diverse population while receiving supervision from senior clinicians.

Key responsibilities

• Provide reception, diagnosis and emergency treatment for adult patients in the ED.
• Manage patient care autonomously under senior supervision, ensuring safety and quality.
• Participate in on‑call shift patterns covering earlies, middles, lates and nights.
• Engage in clinical audit and at least one supervised Quality Improvement Project during the year.
• Attend clinical governance meetings and contribute to risk management activities.

Required profile

• Medical graduate eligible for ST1/2 training in Emergency Medicine (UK NTN holders preferred but not mandatory).
• Willingness to work a full rota including nights and weekends.
• Commitment to patient safety, continuous learning and teamwork.
