Clinical Negligence Lawyer – £50k + Commission

About the role

Express Solicitors is expanding its Clinical Negligence Department and is looking for a motivated lawyer to manage a growing caseload of clinical negligence claims. The role offers a clear progression path towards an Associate position and the chance to work closely with the Head of Department on high‑value cases.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of clinical negligence claims from inception to resolution.
• Conduct detailed legal research and provide advice to clients.
• Prepare and draft pleadings, witness statements and other court documents.
• Negotiate settlements and represent clients in court when required.
• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve successful case outcomes and stay updated on relevant legal developments.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with 1‑3 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) or equivalent CILEx qualification.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical negligence matters, including pre‑issue and issued cases.
• Strong technical ability, tenacity and enthusiasm for client advocacy.
• Ability to handle cases valued up to £100,000 and, for the right candidate, more complex claims.
• Empathy and understanding when working with claimants.
