Clinical Nurse Specialist – Lymphoma (Band 6)

About the role

The NHS Lothian Cancer Services team is seeking a Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist in Lymphoma to provide high‑quality, patient‑centred haematology care within the Edinburgh Cancer Centre. This fixed‑term position (12 months, 36 hours/week) will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to support patients and families throughout diagnosis, treatment and follow‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver specialist nursing care to adults with lymphoma, including chemotherapy and CAR‑T cell therapy administration.
• Coordinate inpatient and day‑treatment services across a 19‑bed ward and ambulatory unit.
• Assess, plan and evaluate patient care plans, ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients, families and carers.
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, transplant and research teams to optimise treatment pathways.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (NMC) with current practice registration.
• Experience in haematology or oncology nursing preferred.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to delivering safe, evidence‑based care.

Required skills

• Proficiency in administering systemic anti‑cancer therapy and supportive treatments.
• Knowledge of autologous stem‑cell transplantation and CAR‑T cell therapy processes.
• Strong assessment, documentation and patient‑education abilities.
