Clinical Registered Psychologist – Prison Services

About the role

The South West & South Central Area Psychology Team provides psychological services across 14 prisons, offering a varied portfolio of clinical, forensic and operational work. As a Band 7 Registered Psychologist you will join a local prison‑based team, supporting parole risk assessments, specialist interventions and wider operational objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality psychological risk assessments for parole processes.
• Provide one‑to‑one specialist interventions such as the Healthy Programme.
• Offer psychologically informed consultation, staff training, and support research and evaluation activities.

Required profile

• Registered Psychologist (Band 7) with experience in forensic or clinical settings.
• Ability to work within prison‑based teams under the guidance of Lead Psychologists.
• Willingness to supervise trainee psychologists.
