Clinical Team Leader

About the role
The Clinical Team Leader will support the ward manager in delivering high‑quality nursing care on an inpatient ward. This position offers a supportive senior team, full induction and opportunities to develop leadership and supervisory skills within a dynamic NHS environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the manager in overseeing nursing care and ensuring standards meet CQC guidelines.
- Provide day‑to‑day leadership to staff and patients, including acting as unit coordinator when required.
- Drive continuous improvement in care quality and maintain a safe ward environment.
- Collaborate with community services, CCGs and local authorities to manage patient flow and bed allocation.
- Support, guide and teach junior staff and students, both informally and formally.
- Assume full managerial responsibility for the ward in the absence of the Ward Manager.
Required profile
- Qualified and experienced nurse seeking to broaden leadership and supervisory experience.
- Forward‑thinking, emotionally resilient and clinically credible.
- Demonstrated understanding of leadership skills and ability to motivate staff.
- Commitment to supporting individual development within the team.
