Clinical Technologist Assistant – Medical Equipment Management

About the role

The Clinical Technologist Assistant will join the Medical Equipment Management Service at Western General Hospital, supporting the safe and efficient operation of a wide range of medical devices across multiple NHS sites in Lothian.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, calibration and repair of electronic and electro‑mechanical medical equipment.
• Travel to various hospitals and clinics to provide on‑site technical support.
• Document service activities and maintain equipment records in line with NHS standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure equipment availability for patient care.

Required profile

• Degree or technical HND (or equivalent) in electronics, medical engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in an electronic servicing role, preferably within a healthcare or similar regulated environment.
• Self‑motivated, methodical and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a flexible approach to varied tasks.
