Cloud DevOps Engineer (Mid-Level)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Mid-Level DevOps Engineer to join our Technical Solutions Team in Abingdon. You will help design, build and operate cloud‑based platforms that support our Neftex® subsurface evaluation products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain scalable, resilient cloud infrastructure.
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test and deployment.
• Create and maintain automation scripts for provisioning, configuration and deployment.
• Build operational tooling for monitoring, logging, backups and incident response.
• Collaborate with software engineers to ensure seamless integration of code and infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance, availability and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues.
• Implement and enforce cloud security policies.
• Maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates, primarily Terraform.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and document processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of experience building and maintaining distributed systems in a public cloud (AWS or Azure).
• Hands‑on experience with Terraform and CI/CD tools.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash or PowerShell, plus AWS CLI/Flux CLI.
• Knowledge of networking concepts, firewalls and WAF.
• Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus and Grafana.
• Excellent problem‑solving ability and comfort working in a fast‑paced agile environment.
