About the role
We are partnering with a London‑based council to find a Cloud Engineering Manager who will lead a high‑performing team through a major technology transformation. You will shape modern Azure and Google Cloud environments from the ground up while remaining hands‑on with architecture, design and large‑scale delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop a team of up to six Cloud Engineers.
- Manage Agile delivery, sprint planning and engineering ceremonies.
- Design and implement secure Azure and Google Cloud environments, including Azure Landing Zones.
- Drive Zero Trust architecture, cloud governance and operational excellence.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Bicep.
- Apply the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and oversee cloud migration programmes.
- Promote DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
- Manage Azure cost optimisation and FinOps activities.
- Collaborate with Architecture, Security, Development, Data and Infrastructure teams.
- Oversee supplier relationships and technical delivery partners.
Required profile
- Demonstrated experience leading cloud or infrastructure engineering teams.
- Strong background in Azure engineering and architecture.
- Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Proven ability to deliver large‑scale cloud transformation projects.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder and supplier management skills.
