Cloud Operations Engineer – 6‑month contract

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Operations Engineer to join the Technology team of a leading Financial Services organisation. This six‑month contract role is based in London with a hybrid working model, focusing on the design, support and improvement of a hybrid Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Level 3 technical support and act as an escalation point for cloud and infrastructure services.
• Manage and maintain Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments.
• Support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, security, governance and compliance.
• Administer modern workplace tools such as Microsoft Intune, Autopilot and Defender.
• Maintain Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP services.
• Monitor platform health, investigate incidents and proactively improve reliability.
• Develop automation solutions using PowerShell and Power Automate.
• Contribute to infrastructure improvements, cloud initiatives and technology projects.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects and engineering teams to deliver solutions.
• Participate in an on‑call support rota.

Required profile

• Strong experience supporting Microsoft Azure environments.
• Proven track record managing Microsoft 365 services and Exchange Online.
• Solid background with Windows Server, Active Directory and related networking concepts.
• Hands‑on experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Ability to work in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
• Senior‑level expertise suitable for Level 3 escalation duties.
