Cloud Operations & Infrastructure Developer

About the role

As a member of AVEVA's global Cloud Operations & Infrastructure team, you will design, develop and implement cloud‑based applications and services that support the company’s industrial software portfolio. The role is hybrid, based in Derry/Londonderry or Cambridge, and focuses on building reliable, secure and scalable cloud platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely incident response and keep stakeholders informed.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve operational stability, security, cost management and reporting.
• Develop and optimise Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) processes through automation and effective reporting.
• Oversee cloud deployments, track progress and resolve or escalate release issues.
• Proactively manage cloud environments, including infrastructure‑as‑code, certificates, storage, health and backup status.
• Validate new services against operational readiness standards before hand‑over to support.
• Maintain compliance with security policies and produce clear operational documentation.
• Participate in a shared on‑call rotation supporting UK business hours within a 24x7 follow‑the‑sun model.

Required profile

• Experience in operational support, software development and deployment methodologies.
• Strong programming background with the ability to write code that automates operations and improves reliability.
• Willingness to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment and engage in incident response.
