Cloud Platform Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Cloud Platform Engineer to join our technical consultancy, delivering secure cloud and infrastructure solutions for a range of customers. The role blends building and supporting cloud environments with design, customer interaction and architectural input.

Key responsibilities

• Build and configure cloud infrastructure with a strong focus on AWS.
• Support cloud and platform delivery across AWS and, where required, Azure.
• Work with Linux environments, preferably Red Hat.
• Deploy and maintain OpenShift and Kubernetes platforms.
• Automate infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible and related tools.
• Assist migrations, upgrades, monitoring, resilience and platform improvements.
• Troubleshoot cloud, Linux, container and infrastructure issues.
• Contribute to high‑level and low‑level technical designs.
• Produce implementation documentation, hand‑over material and technical runbooks.
• Engage directly with customers to understand requirements and resolve technical challenges.
• Support senior architects and consultants with solution design and technical assurance.
• Manage work across one or two customer projects simultaneously.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps or infrastructure engineering.
• Practical AWS experience, including building and supporting cloud environments.
• Solid Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Terraform or another Infrastructure‑as‑Code tool.
• Experience with Ansible or similar automation/configuration‑management tooling.
• Exposure to Kubernetes and/or OpenShift.
• Understanding of cloud networking, IAM, security, monitoring and resilience.
• Comfortable producing technical documentation and contributing to solution designs.
• Effective communication with customers and internal technical teams.
• Interest in progressing towards cloud or solution architecture.
