CMM Inspector

About the role

We are looking for an experienced CMM Inspector to join our Quality team in Gloucester. This permanent position offers the chance to work with state‑of‑the‑art metrology equipment in a forward‑thinking manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and program manual and CNC CMM equipment to inspect manufactured components.
• Create, maintain and optimise measurement routines for goods‑in, in‑process and final inspection.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and GD&T requirements.
• Analyse measurement data and produce detailed dimensional inspection reports.
• Perform routine maintenance, calibration and ensure repeatability & reproducibility of measurement systems.
• Raise and manage non‑conformance reports (NCRs) and support NPI activities.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain accurate inspection records.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a CMM Operator/Inspector in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with both manual and CNC CMM systems; Mitutoyo or Aberlink preferred.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.
• Competent using inspection tools such as micrometers, verniers, thread gauges, shadow graphs and hardness testers.
• Knowledge of MSA, GR&R methodologies and ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Excellent attention to detail, problem‑solving ability and good communication skills.
