CNC Brake Press Operator

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced Brake Press / Roller Operator to join their established manufacturing team in Dorking. This permanent position offers the chance to work with modern CNC equipment in a clean, safety‑focused production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC brake presses to manufacture components to specification.
• Set up and operate CNC plate rollers.
• Interpret engineering drawings and programme machinery accordingly.
• Programme Bystronic laser machines when required.
• Carry out self‑inspection of completed parts to ensure they meet drawing and quality requirements.
• Perform daily safety and machine checks before operation.
• Work efficiently to meet production schedules and quality standards.
• Report any quality, production or equipment issues to the Team Leader or Manager.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and follow all health and safety procedures.
• Collaborate within the manufacturing team to support production objectives.
• Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role.

Required profile

• Previous experience operating CNC brake presses.
• Experience operating CNC plate rollers (desirable).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience programming CNC machinery, including Bystronic equipment (advantageous).
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality work.
• Good organisational skills and ability to meet production deadlines.
• Proactive approach to health and safety.
• Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
