CNC Grinder – Precision Toolroom Role

About the role

Our client is looking for a CNC Grinder to join the dedicated Toolroom team in Accrington. You will manufacture precision parts to tight tolerances, following detailed design specifications and blueprints.

Key responsibilities

• Operate manual surface grinding and cylindrical grinding machines such as Jones & Shipman 540 & 1300, XYZ 2040 surface grinder and Abwood RG1 circular ring grinder.
• Measure and inspect finished components to ensure they meet drawing requirements and report any deviations.
• Carry out routine equipment maintenance, including oil and coolant level checks.
• Produce work to required quality standards while minimising waste.
• Follow written instructions, maintain a tidy work area and adhere to health and safety procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of safety, quality and productivity.

Required profile

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications for tight‑tolerance work.
• Strong experience within a toolroom grinding environment.
• Experience with CNC grinding machines is advantageous (training provided).
• Familiarity with CMM inspection equipment is a plus.
