CNC Machine Operator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machine Operator to join our busy toolroom in Marden, Kent. The role involves machining high‑precision components for tooling and customer projects, with a focus on low‑volume, high‑quality parts.

Key responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathes and milling machines to produce precision components.
• Interpret detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Manufacture complex, low‑volume parts to exacting quality standards.
• Collaborate with team members to support tooling, fixtures and production needs.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, safety and quality throughout the machining process.
• Help meet customer deadlines and ensure on‑time delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience in a CNC machining environment.
• Proven experience producing small batches of precision‑engineered components.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality output.
• Proactive attitude and effective teamwork skills.

Required skills

• CNC lathe operation
• CNC milling machine operation
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• CAD/CAM programming (experience preferred)
• Design and manufacture of machine fixtures and jigs
• Sliding head lathe operation
• Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles
• Knowledge of 5S manufacturing principles
• Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality management system
