CNC Machine Operator

About the role

We are seeking a CNC Machine Operator to join a well‑established, family‑run engineering business near Tiverton. The role involves operating both turning and milling CNC machines to produce precision‑engineered components. Full training is provided, with a clear pathway to progress into a CNC Setter position.

Key responsibilities

• Operate CNC turning and milling machines to manufacture precision components.
• Load and unload raw material and finished parts.
• Produce components in line with engineering drawings and specifications.
• Carry out dimensional and visual quality inspections using measuring equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Identify and report machine faults or quality issues promptly.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised work environment.
• Follow company quality procedures and health & safety standards.

Required profile

• Previous CNC machining or manufacturing experience is preferred but not essential.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and develop within precision engineering.
• Reliable, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Own transport due to the rural location.

What we offer

• Permanent, full‑time position with a starting rate from £15.00 per hour.
• Monday‑to‑Friday schedule, no weekends, with a choice of 07:00‑16:00 or 08:00‑17:00 shifts.
