CNC Machinist – Precision Engineering (Aerospace)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join a busy precision‑engineering environment supporting the aerospace sector. You will work Monday to Thursday, operating a range of CNC and secondary‑operation machines while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines, lathes and manual equipment.
• Develop centreless grinding skills as part of daily work.
• Run secondary‑operation machinery such as thread rollers, part markers, drill banks, depitching presses, torque testers and deburring equipment.
• Perform first‑off inspections, buddy checks and in‑process quality inspections.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Measure components with micrometres and other inspection tools to tight tolerances.
• Maintain daily maintenance checks, production documentation and a clean, safe work area.
• Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, minimise rework and improve productivity.

Required profile

• Previous CNC machining experience in a precision‑engineering setting.
• Experience with aerospace manufacturing is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with materials such as aluminium, stainless steel and Inconel.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Positive team player with good communication skills.
