CNC Miller – Setter, Operator & Programmer

About the role

Join a well‑established, friendly manufacturing company in Sussex as an experienced CNC Miller. You will work in a modern machining environment, producing high‑quality components and operating independently.

Key responsibilities

• Set, operate and program a CNC vertical mill using Heidenhain and/or Fanuc controls.
• Program directly from engineering drawings without assistance.
• Machine a variety of materials, primarily aluminium.
• Produce components to exact drawing specifications.
• Maintain personal quality standards and carry out self‑inspection.
• Select the most suitable tooling for each job.

Required profile

• Proven experience setting and programming CNC vertical mills independently.
• Strong knowledge of Fanuc and/or Heidenhain control systems (both preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Keen eye for quality and attention to detail.
• Positive, reliable approach with pride in your work.

• Salary £30,000 – £36,000 DOE
