CNC Milling Machinist

About the role

Elevation Recruitment Group is hiring on behalf of a long‑established precision engineering manufacturer in Stockport. The company seeks an experienced CNC Milling Machinist to support ongoing production demands on a day‑shift, 40‑hour week.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce components to drawing specifications.
• Interpret engineering drawings and ensure parts meet quality standards.
• Carry out self‑inspection throughout the machining process.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience.
• Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• Ability to work independently, reliably and with high attention to detail.
• Team‑oriented and proactive approach.

Required skills

• CNC milling – program setup, operation, editing and proving out.
• Interpreting engineering drawings.
• Use of micrometers, vernier calipers and other precision measuring tools.
• Understanding of tolerances and machining principles.
• Experience with horizontal milling machines and Fanuc controls (advantageous).
