CNC Operative

About the role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Operative to join a precision engineering team in Maidstone. You will be responsible for setting up, operating and monitoring CNC machines to produce high‑quality components in line with engineering drawings and production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, working to tight tolerances.
• Set up, run and monitor CNC machines, loading materials and changing tooling or fixtures as required.
• Carry out first‑off and in‑process inspections using micrometers, calipers and gauges.
• Maintain accurate production records and job cards.
• Report any quality issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Adhere to health & safety and quality procedures at all times.

Required profile

• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Minimum 2 years of machining experience.
• Hands‑on CNC operation with basic setup skills.
• Proficiency with measuring tools.
• Strong attention to detail and effective time management.
