CNC Operator – 9‑Day Fortnight, Days‑Only Shifts

About the role

We are seeking a CNC Operator to join a leading aerospace, space and defence manufacturer in York. The position offers a stable, days‑only schedule with a 9‑day fortnight, providing excellent work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a variety of CNC mills, machining centres and lathes on a rotating weekly shift pattern.
• Set up, run and monitor machines to produce high‑precision components for the space and defence sectors.
• Participate in training programmes covering a wide range of Heidenhain‑controlled equipment.
• Maintain accurate production records and ensure compliance with quality standards.

Required profile

• Experience operating CNC lathes or mills, or relevant apprenticeship/college training.
• Ability to commute to York.
• Commitment to a weekday‑only schedule with alternating early and evening shifts.

Required skills

• CNC machining operation.
• Proficiency with Heidenhain control systems.
• Knowledge of milling, turning and machining centre processes.
