CNC Operator – Precision Machining

About the role

We are seeking skilled CNC Operators to join our team in Erdington, Birmingham. You will work on advanced CNC machinery to produce high‑quality components while contributing to a culture of precision, innovation and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Program, set up and operate CNC machining centres.
• Interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing plans.
• Create work‑holding setups and select appropriate tooling.
• Inspect finished components to ensure they meet specifications.
• Support process‑improvement initiatives and general workshop activities.

Required profile

• Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in a relevant discipline.
• Experience with Hurco CNC machines and offline programming (desirable).
• Familiarity with WorkNC CAM software (desirable).
• Proven experience in CNC milling, programming, setting and operation.
• Ability to read and work from technical and engineering drawings.

What we offer

• Rate of £38.29 per hour (£54,500 per annum based on a 37‑hour week).
• Overtime and weekend rates for additional hours.
• 12‑month fixed‑term contract with a temp‑to‑perm option.
• Rotational double‑day shifts (6 am‑2 pm / 2 pm‑10 pm) with early Friday finish.
