CNC Setter – 3, 4 & 5‑Axis Milling

About the role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Setter to join a fast‑growing specialist manufacturing operation in Bedford. You will work on high‑precision, high‑value components used for aerodynamic testing and world‑leading research projects. The role offers a hands‑on environment with day shifts, overtime premium and a supportive training programme.

Key responsibilities

• Program, set up and operate 3‑, 4‑ and 5‑axis CNC milling machines.
• Interpret detailed engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles to achieve tight tolerances.
• Prepare workpieces, select and install tooling, and manage machine fixtures.
• Run multiple machines as required to meet production schedules.
• Maintain accurate records of setups, tool wear and machining parameters.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, particularly on 3‑ and 5‑axis equipment.
• Formal qualification or apprenticeship in CNC machining (HNC/HND, City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work from technical drawings.
• Willingness to work Monday‑Friday, day‑based shifts (38 hours/week).
