CNC Setter/Operator – £15-£18/hr, training & progression

About the role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to join a specialist manufacturing workshop serving a range of sub‑contract projects. The role offers a days‑based shift, competitive hourly pay and the chance to develop programming skills while working on precision components.

Key responsibilities

• Set‑up, operate and maintain CNC turning and milling machines to produce high‑precision parts.
• Interpret technical drawings and work orders to ensure accurate production.
• Participate in on‑the‑job programming training and apply new code to machine controls.
• Support supervisory progression by mentoring junior staff and assisting with quality checks.
• Maintain a clean, safe workshop environment and adhere to health‑and‑safety standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a CNC Turner, Miller, Setter or Operator.
• Some exposure to CNC programming or a willingness to learn.
• Desire for long‑term career development within a stable, niche industry.
