CNC Team Leader – Precision Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Team Leader to oversee the day‑to‑day operations of a high‑precision machining workshop in Watford. You will remain hands‑on, setting and programming Citizen and Star sliding‑head CNC lathes while ensuring production targets and quality standards are consistently met.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily workshop activities, production schedules and staff performance.
• Set up, program and operate Citizen and Star sliding‑head CNC lathes.
• Produce prototype and small‑to‑medium batch components in stainless steel, aluminium and brass.
• Maintain ISO 9001 compliance and uphold quality standards.
• Drive continuous improvement and support overtime and early Friday finishes.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior CNC setter, programmer or production manager in precision engineering.
• Hands‑on expertise with sliding‑head CNC lathes (Citizen or Star).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong organisational skills and a commitment to meeting delivery deadlines.
