CNC Turner/Miller – Training on Programming

About the role

Join a family‑run engineering SME that supplies high‑precision components to the Defence, Nuclear, Marine and Oil sectors. You will work with state‑of‑the‑art CNC equipment, including a brand‑new MAZAK VTC530C, while receiving extensive in‑house and external training to develop your programming and machining skills.

Key responsibilities

• Program, set up and operate CNC turning and milling machines to produce precision parts.
• Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications for Defence, Nuclear, Marine and Oil applications.
• Maintain high standards of quality, safety and machine upkeep.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to optimise processes and reduce waste.
• Participate in overtime shifts and the annual Christmas shutdown period.

Required profile

• Apprenticeship‑trained CNC background or at least 1 year of machining experience.
• Willingness to learn new programmes and operate a variety of CNC machines.
• Commitment to a full‑time, permanent role with a Monday‑Thursday 07:30‑17:00 schedule and half‑day Fridays.
