CNC Turning Setter/Operator – £18.50/hr + Bonus

About the role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Turning Setter/Operator to join a well‑established precision engineering business in Farnham. You will work on Fanuc‑controlled turning centres, producing high‑precision components from billets and castings while maintaining tight tolerances and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC turning centres equipped with Fanuc controls.
• Manufacture precision‑engineered components from ferrous and non‑ferrous materials.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to determine machining requirements.
• Select appropriate tooling and cutting tools for each job.
• Monitor machining processes, make adjustments, and ensure production targets are met.
• Inspect finished parts using micrometers, verniers, gauges and CMM equipment.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures and keep the work area organised.

Required profile

• Recognised apprenticeship or significant experience as a CNC Turner.
• Proven experience setting and operating CNC lathes.
• Familiarity with Fanuc controls.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience machining precision components.
• Confidence using precision measuring equipment.
• Proactive attitude with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience with CNC programming and CMM inspection is advantageous but not essential.
