Collections Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Collections Specialist to join a fast‑growing financial services business in North West London. You will work within the financial operations team, focusing on commercial SME clients to proactively recover debts and support loan restructuring initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Contact early‑arrears clients by phone and email to manage debt collection.
• Negotiate payment plans and new terms, and recall direct debit payments via GoCardless.
• Prepare accurate statements, proof‑of‑debt forms and legal documentation for solicitors.
• Assist in loan restructuring, gathering documentation and coordinating with legal counsel.
• Assess personal equity using Land Registry and credit reference portals.
• Reconcile loan accounts and produce detailed loan statements.
• Utilise Experian, TransUnion, Creditsafe, Zoopla and other tools to determine net worth and trace assets.

Required profile

• Proven experience in credit control or debt recovery, including negotiating payment plans.
• Understanding of loan restructuring and forbearance processes.
• High accuracy and attention to detail when preparing financial and legal documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
