Collections Specialist

About the role

Our client, a leading FCA‑regulated consumer credit company, is expanding its collections team in North London. As a Collections Specialist you will manage loan accounts throughout their lifecycle, working closely with customers to find fair, sustainable repayment solutions while ensuring full regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of customer loan accounts from inception to completion.
• Handle inbound and outbound customer contacts.
• Work with customers experiencing financial difficulties to agree realistic repayment arrangements.
• Identify vulnerable customers and provide appropriate support.
• Maintain accurate records in the CRM system.
• Ensure all activity complies with FCA regulations, Consumer Duty, company policies and data‑protection requirements.
• Liaise with internal departments and external parties as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in collections, arrears or account management within consumer finance or secured lending.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Good understanding of FCA regulations, Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) and Consumer Duty.

Required skills

• Experience using CRM systems and maintaining accurate records.
