About the role
The Auto Body Technician is responsible for delivering a high‑quality customer experience by assessing, repairing and restoring vehicles to their pre‑accident condition. Working in a fast‑paced collision and glass service environment, the technician disassembles, repairs, and reassembles vehicles while meeting speed, quality and KPI targets.
Key responsibilities
- Execute the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan consistently.
- Plan repair work, prepare cost estimates and use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers and pliers.
- Repair minor body damage by hammering dents or applying filler resins when necessary.
- Realign chassis and frames to correct structural damage.
- Remove damaged sections and replace them with new or aftermarket parts.
- Replace or repair glass, windshields, and interior components as required.
- Weld and attach parts, then prepare and repaint vehicles with factory‑specified paint.
- Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair to ensure quality.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship in auto body repair.
- Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
- Capability to collaborate with other repairers in an auto body shop.
- Thorough understanding of vehicle body repair methods, procedures and tool usage.
Required skills
- Operation of cutting guns and plasma cutters.
- Use of hydraulic jacks, hammers and pliers.
- Application of filler resins for dent repair.
- Chassis and frame realignment techniques.
- Welding and metal attachment skills.
- Paint application using factory‑specified paints.
- Glass and windshield replacement.
