Commercial Account Handler – Birmingham

About the role

Capio Recruitment Insurance is seeking an experienced Commercial Account Handler to join its growing broking team in Birmingham. You will work closely with Account Executives, senior leaders and insurer partners to deliver high‑quality advice and service to a varied commercial client base.

Key responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships and provide day‑to‑day support for commercial clients.
• Manage renewals, MTAs and policy documentation, ensuring timely protection.
• Negotiate open‑market placements with insurers to secure appropriate terms.
• Support Account Executives on larger, more complex cases above the SME level.
• Collaborate within a team‑led service model alongside claims and senior leadership.
• Identify client needs early to maintain strong retention.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial insurance account handling.
• Confidence handling combined and mid‑market corporate risks.
• Experience with open‑market broking and insurer negotiation.
• Comfortable managing clients with mid‑market premium spend.
• Strong communication, client‑first attitude and ability to challenge constructively.
• Team‑focused mindset with a desire for progression.
