Commercial Account Handler – Insurance Broker

About the role

This position is with an award‑winning independent insurance broker based just outside Bolton. As a Commercial Account Handler you will own a portfolio of scheme clients, guiding them through the full insurance cycle and providing expert advice.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing scheme clients.
• Manage all stages of the insurance process – new business, renewals, mid‑term adjustments and client queries.
• Underwrite risks within delegated authority levels, applying sound judgment.
• Provide clear, expert advice to help clients understand their cover requirements.
• Deliver consistently high levels of service and communication.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Account Handler in the commercial insurance sector.
• Strong attention to detail and solid technical knowledge of insurance processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
• Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English at grades A‑C/4‑9.
