Commercial Account Handler – Insurance Sales

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Commercial Account Handler with insurance experience to join our SME team in Newcastle upon Tyne. You will build strong client relationships, manage renewals and provide tailored insurance solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and support the SME team internally and externally, liaising with clients, insurers and third‑party partners.
• Issue renewal notices, confirm quotations by phone, follow‑up and arrange cover where successful.
• Handle customer enquiries, process adjustments and manage post‑correspondence from clients or insurers.
• Maintain credit control, resolve account issues and develop business accounts according to the plan.
• Identify cross‑selling opportunities and suggest workflow improvements.
• Negotiate terms and pricing with partner insurers and ensure advice meets client requirements.

Required profile

• Background in insurance with a strong customer‑focused attitude.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail and accurate documentation of recommendations.
