Commercial Accountant – Fixed-Term (6 months)

About the role

We are seeking a Commercial Accountant on a 6-month fixed-term contract to support a finance team during a key systems implementation. The role offers broad exposure to transactional finance, month-end close and financial reporting within a collaborative, site-based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support month-end close, reconciliations and management accounts.
• Oversee purchase ledger and transactional finance processes.
• Assist with internal and external financial reporting.
• Help prepare statutory accounts and technical papers.
• Review VAT returns and support tax compliance.
• Provide ad-hoc support to the finance team as required.

Required profile

• AAT qualification (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience at a similar level.
• Strong Excel and accounting-software proficiency.
• Pro-active, hands-on approach and detail-oriented.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, site-based environment.
