Commercial Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a Commercial Assistant to join our fast‑growing construction business in Maldon. You will support the commercial team on a variety of projects, ensuring tender processes, cost tracking and stakeholder communication run smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Process tenders and costings, including assumptions, clarifications and exclusions.
• Review tender documents and maintain cost logs with supporting documentation.
• Process payment applications and attend project meetings (face‑to‑face or via Teams).
• Prepare cash‑flow forecasts and manage NEC3/4 contract communications such as compensation events and early warnings.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and site staff to gather cost information and issue purchase orders.

Required profile

• Experience with Microsoft Project and strong IT proficiency.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with external audit evidence for HSEQ and commercial requirements.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and CDM regulations.
