Commercial Category Manager – SC Cleared

About the role

We are seeking an SC‑cleared Commercial Category Manager to join a large public‑sector client on a hybrid basis (2‑3 days onsite in Leeds). The role involves managing the full procurement lifecycle, supporting strategic planning and delivering commercial value across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end procurement activities within the public sector, from tender engagement to contract award.
• Maintain a comprehensive procurement pipeline and ensure alignment with technology stakeholders.
• Support the Commercial Business Partner in sourcing strategy, workshop facilitation and governance processes.
• Collaborate with Finance to realise benefits and manage risk across procurements and contracts.
• Utilise eProcurement systems efficiently and keep commercial trackers up to date.
• Drive sustainability initiatives and identify savings and efficiency opportunities.
• Ensure clear information flow between Procurement and the business, including supplier intelligence.

Required profile

• Proven experience in public‑sector procurement and tender management.
• Strong stakeholder and contract negotiation skills.
• Security Clearance at SC level.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with technology, finance and delivery teams.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on commercial outcomes.
