Commercial Finance Analyst

About the role

This is a brand‑new Commercial Finance Analyst position within a growing business that is investing heavily in its FP&A function. Reporting directly to the FP&A Director, you will help shape the finance team while gaining exposure to strategic decision‑making across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Support the budgeting and forecasting process.
• Produce insightful management information and performance analysis.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Analyse trends, KPIs and financial data to support decision‑making.
• Challenge existing processes and propose more efficient ways of working.
• Assist with month‑end reporting and ensure timely, accurate financial information.
• Play a key role in developing and shaping the future of the FP&A function.
• Contribute to the implementation of Power BI, Power Query or SQL where required.

Required profile

• Strong finance fundamentals with a commercial mindset.
• AAT Level 4 qualification (CIMA or ACCA study ambitions are a plus).
• Experience in management accounting, finance analysis or commercial finance.
• Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, management reporting or variance analysis.
• Excellent Excel skills and an analytical mindset.
• Confidence to build relationships and communicate financial information to non‑finance stakeholders.
• Proactive attitude with the ability to question, challenge and suggest improvements.
• Curious, commercially aware and looking for long‑term development.
