Commercial Finance Analyst

About the role

The Wave, the UK’s first inland surf destination, is looking for a commercially‑minded Commercial Finance Analyst to join its fast‑growing team. Reporting directly to the CFO and working with Heads of Department, you will shape the business’s financial insight rather than simply reporting on past performance.

Key responsibilities

• Run monthly business reviews with Heads of Department across Surf, Food & Beverage, Retail, Accommodation, Camps and Events.
• Own variance reporting, KPI packs and written commentary explaining financial movements.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and maintain the rolling forecast, accounting for seasonality and capital timing.
• Analyse pricing, yield, capacity and occupancy, including lake mix design.
• Redesign and automate daily flash reporting, replacing manual processes.
• Act as the primary finance user of a new data platform, influencing reporting design.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of experience in commercial finance, FP&A, business analysis or a similar analytical role.
• Proven track record of budgeting and forecasting, not just reporting results.
• Comfort presenting and defending analysis to senior stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently as the sole analyst in the business.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel modelling.
• Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI, Tableau or Qlik.

What we offer

• Competitive salary of £40,000‑£45,000 per year.
