Commercial Gas Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Rotating Equipment Engineer to lead the asset integrity of gas turbines, steam turbines, fuel gas compressors and related rotating plant equipment. Reporting to the Asset Integrity Group Lead, you will ensure long-term reliability and compliance across our CHP & CCGT fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain compliance of the gas- and steam-turbine fleet with OEM recommendations, GENSIP guidelines and industry standards.
• Provide technical advice to site maintenance teams on faults, inspections, repairs and planned outages.
• Coordinate specialist consultants and OEMs for on-site support, supervision and quality inspections during outages.
• Author and update business standards, procedures and condition-monitoring protocols for turbines and balance-of-plant equipment.
• Manage vibration analysis services and condition-based monitoring contracts.
• Drive continuous-improvement initiatives, investigating equipment failures and supporting design reviews, hazard studies and risk assessments.

Required profile

• BSc/MSc/MEng in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards registration (desirable).
• Significant experience in power-plant design, construction, operation or maintenance, with a focus on gas and steam turbines.
• Strong knowledge of standards, codes and methods for turbines, exhaust systems, pressure vessels, pipework, welding and non-destructive testing.
