About the role

Oakley Hill is seeking an ambitious Commercial Insurance Broker to join its growing brokerage in Newbury. The role involves developing and managing a portfolio of commercial clients while collaborating with the wider commercial team to meet business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and retain commercial client accounts across various industry sectors.
• Generate new business through networking, marketing activities and community engagement.
• Attend and lead networking events to build a pipeline of prospects.
• Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through to policy placement.
• Conduct client meetings, identify growth opportunities and cross‑sell insurance solutions.
• Deliver tailored insurance solutions covering Property, Liability and Professional Indemnity.
• Negotiate competitive terms to secure appropriate coverage for clients.

Required profile

• Proven experience in winning new business and building long‑term B2B relationships.
• Proactive approach to client development and market engagement.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to spot new opportunities.
• Consultative, solutions‑focused mindset.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
• Willingness to pursue professional development and industry qualifications.
• Previous experience in insurance or financial services is preferred; knowledge of commercial insurance is advantageous.

Required skills
