Commercial Insurance Manager / Team Leader

About the role

Reed is recruiting a Commercial Insurance Manager for a respected insurance broking firm in Taunton. This hybrid role (35‑hour week) offers a chance to lead a small team while maintaining direct client relationships, supporting the branch’s growth phase.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop a portfolio of SME and commercial insurance clients.
• Generate new business and convert leads into contracts.
• Handle renewals, mid‑term adjustments and conduct client reviews.
• Build and maintain long‑term relationships with clients and insurer partners.
• Mentor and support a small operational team, ensuring compliance and performance standards.
• Represent the business at networking and industry events.
• Contribute to the strategic expansion of the Taunton branch.

Required profile

• Strong commercial insurance experience, preferably with SME and mid‑market clients.
• Demonstrated leadership or a clear ambition to move into a leadership role.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Proactive, commercially minded approach.
• CII qualification (or working towards it) is advantageous.
