About the role

Reed is recruiting a Commercial Insurance Team Leader for its Taunton office. The role is ideal for an experienced commercial insurance professional looking to step into people leadership while maintaining direct client relationships. You will help shape the growth of a new branch and support a small operational team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop a portfolio of SME and commercial insurance clients.
• Generate new business and convert prospects into long‑term relationships.
• Handle renewals, mid‑term adjustments and client reviews.
• Mentor and coach a small operational team, ensuring compliance and performance standards.
• Represent the business at networking and industry events.
• Contribute to the strategic growth of the Taunton branch.

Required profile

• Strong commercial insurance experience, particularly with SME and mid‑market clients.
• Demonstrated leadership experience or a clear ambition to move into a leadership role.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Proactive, commercially minded approach.
• CII qualification (or working towards it) is advantageous.
