Commercial Lawyer – Construction & Technology

About the role

We are seeking a Commercial Lawyer to join a large, highly regulated international organisation based in Manchester. The in‑house legal team provides strategic support across construction, technology and commercial projects, helping the business manage legal risk while driving innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide commercially‑focused legal advice on construction, real estate, procurement, commercial and technology matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including construction contracts, consultancy services, technology solutions and outsourced services.
• Support procurement and delivery of complex construction, workplace, facilities and real‑estate projects across multiple jurisdictions.
• Assist in negotiating consultant, contractor and framework agreements.
• Develop and implement legal strategies that support effective risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and advise on their impact.
• Identify legal and regulatory risks and propose practical mitigation measures.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or equivalent legal professional in the UK or a comparable jurisdiction.
• Relevant post‑qualification experience gained in‑house and/or in private practice.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and build strong stakeholder relationships.
• Collaborative approach with a focus on contributing to team and organisational objectives.
