Commercial Manager - Civils

About the role

You will join a global civil engineering consultancy working on the Sizewell C nuclear programme. The role is based on‑site for 2‑3 days a week with remote flexibility, offering exposure to senior stakeholders on a landmark infrastructure project.

Key responsibilities

• Lead contract management under NEC3/NEC4, including change control, claims, payment notices and dispute avoidance.
• Deliver cost management services such as CBS/WBS maintenance, forecasting, accruals and earned‑value inputs.
• Provide estimating and cost‑planning support, including value engineering, benchmarking and quantification.
• Oversee planning, reporting and governance – KPI reporting, earned‑value metrics and commercial dashboards.
• Drive procurement and tendering from strategy development through to contract award.
• Manage commercial risk – identification, quantification, mitigation and facilitation of risk workshops.

Required profile

• Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or equivalent, with membership of a relevant professional body.
• Proven experience using NEC3 or NEC4 contracts within civil engineering, either as a contractor or consultant.
• Strong commercial acumen, analytical capability and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with client and project teams.
• Full UK driving licence.
