Commercial Manager – Major Infrastructure Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial performance of major transmission and energy infrastructure projects in the UK. The role will work closely with senior project leadership to maximise value, manage risk and ensure successful delivery of high‑profile schemes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all commercial activities across the project lifecycle, including contract administration, variations and change management.
• Manage monthly cost and value reconciliation, cash‑flow, work‑in‑progress and financial forecasting.
• Identify, assess and mitigate commercial risks in partnership with project leadership.
• Develop and mentor the project commercial team, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Drive procurement strategies to achieve optimal commercial outcomes.
• Monitor and challenge project costs, protect margins and report accurate financial performance.
• Collaborate with operational and planning teams to support programme delivery.
• Identify opportunities for margin improvement and commercial optimisation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial management on large‑scale infrastructure or energy projects.
• Strong contractual expertise and commercial acumen.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and influence senior stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and risk‑management skills.
